Dr. Sonia Alex has a passion for dentistry. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Madras, India, in 1992. She graduated from IU School of Dentistry in 1999 in the top 10% of her class.

Prior to joining Gentle Dentist, Dr. Alex was a Clinical Instructor at the IU School of Dentistry. In addition, she served as a Clinical Consultant for practices in Illinois and Michigan and as an Associate for several years at a group practice in Indianapolis. She has published an article on “The Basics of Oral Sedation.”

Dr. Alex is committed to keeping abreast of technological advancements, as she is dedicated to providing her patients the best possible treatment options. She has taken expanded courses in endodontics, implants, and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Alex’s approach is to treat her patients gently and make them feel comfortable while in her care. If they choose to do so, patients have an option of oral sedation and nitrous oxide to lessen any anxiety.

Dr. Alex is a member of American Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Alex has resided in Indianapolis since 1996 with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys movies, photography, traveling and spending time with her family.
