Dentures are removable, artificial teeth and gums used to replace missing teeth. In just 2 visits, our denture specialists can help you get a beautiful, natural-looking set of dentures that fit comfortably. If you're missing multiple teeth, dentures might be the perfect choice for you!
The average cost of a set of dentures depends on your needs and dental plan. At Mortenson Family Dental, our price generally ranges from around $650-$1800, depending on what materials the dentures are made out of and how many teeth you are replacing.
How long does a set of dentures last?
Dentures will eventually need to be replaced, but with the proper care, they can last several years. In general, dentists recommend getting new dentures every 5 to 8 years. Over this time, dentures get worn out due to regular use, and your gums may change shape or shrink over the years.
What does it mean to have your dentures relined?
Denture relining is a simple and affordable procedure that reshapes the underside of a denture to make it more comfortable as it rests against your gums. Relines are referred to as “soft” or “hard,” and can be completed either at the office or in a lab.
How long does it take to get used to wearing dentures?
In general, it takes about 30 days to get used to wearing dentures. One should have a little patience during this time, as learning to eat and speak again can be a challenge. Expect some soreness to persist at first, especially if you've had tooth extractions.
